For this River Oracle late-night session, waters will be heard in a low-intensity installative set up guided by Melo Chua’s sound performance resonating with group recordings and within a display mediated by Paloma Ayala and Anne-Laure Franchette.
We open up the portals of imagination that our diverse oracles are, and come close to cyanotype images created in water, by the sun and by human technology, images that are collected and structured in moments when as a group of artists, we come across the question of how to persevere in imagining (curious, just, loving, solidarious) relationships to more-than-human beings.
We have worked together since 2021, developing a practice of thinking about oracles, asking for guidance in our own ways of working as cultural producers. We are Melo Chua, Paloma Ayala, Anne-Laure Franchette, Riikka Tauriainen, Kay Zhang. River Oracle is an artistic project meant to be a tool to situate ourselves as humans in our relationship with water bodies.
