When do we ask for a time-out? In life, we may ask for a time-out when circumstances get overwhelming, when people fall ill or burn out, when banks collapse or a relationship goes silent.

Time-outs exist as pockets of time that pretend they’re following some other logic than the progression of time. As if time came to a halt. Does it ever?

This Eco-Transpedagogy program and participatory art project embraces the salvaging, fermentation, cooking, and sharing of food waste. Participants actively engage in light labor, engage in discussions based on pre-recorded podcasts, partake in food waste quizzes, and exchange perspectives on seeking shared solutions amidst the challenges of climate change, political polarisation, and energy crises.

Stories and Spaces are deeply entangled. Narrations, fictions and speculations offer us a temporal scale to look at the built environment, through which bodies’ oppressive categorisation and transgressive potential are made visible. Alternative life schedules and subcultural kinship making (what Jack Halberstam calls a “queer temporality”) demand an expanded understanding of care practice concerning architecture, whose aesthetic vocabulary is yet to be found.
